Deja Vu at Braehead

The second event of the Goldline Scottish Curling Tour took place this weekend at Braehead and produced the same final as last week with Martin Lill defeating Kyle Smith 7-5 in the final. A score of 4 in the third end proving decisive.

The quarter finals saw Martin Lill defeat Van Dorp 5-2, Alan Hannah 8-2 winners against Team NYP, Kyle Smith edging Blair Fraser 6-5 and Lorna Vevers producing the same 6-5 score line against David Jones.

Kyle defeated Lorna 7-1 in the semis with Martin beating Alan 4-2.

A great two weeks in Scotland for the Estonians and they are off to a flier in the Tour.

Will we see them back for more to try to win the overall prize?

New Season, New Dawn

The first event of the 2013/14 Scottish Curling Tour took place at Dumfries at the weekend.
The 4 quarter finals produced close games with Grant Hardie and David Edwards coming through with 7-3 wins against Cameron Bryce and Scott Robertson respectively. Kyle Smith beat Veronica Zappone's young Italian team 5-3 and Martin Lill's Estonia team stole at an extra end to edge out Frazer Hare 6-5.
The semi finals were just as close with Martin Lill taking 3 shots down the last for a 6-5 win against David Edwards. Kyle Smith stole at an extra end to beat Grant Hardie 5-4.
In the final Martin Lill and Kyle Smith were tied at 4-4 after 7 ends with the Estonians producing another last end steal for the win when Kyle came up short needing the 8 foot circle for the win .
We have our first overseas winner of a SCT event and congratulate Martin Lill, Harry Lill, Siim Sildnik and Fred Randver on a successful weekend.
Here is the winning team with the trophy donated by Allen Henderson of Sulwath Brewers.
